Get answers to common questions about Upper Lip Waxing.
Most clients report brief, manageable discomfort rather than strong pain. The process is quick, typically under five minutes, and our estheticians use soothing techniques. Avoid caffeine and come relaxed; we can recommend topical numbing if you’re particularly sensitive.
Upper lip waxing typically keeps the area hair-free for about three to six weeks, varying by individual growth cycles. Consistent waxing can slow regrowth and soften hair, making future sessions quicker and less noticeable.
Come with clean, makeup-free skin and hair approximately one-quarter inch long for optimal removal. Avoid exfoliating or retinoids within 48 hours and skip tanning to reduce sensitivity and improve waxing outcomes.
Temporary redness, mild swelling, and minor sensitivity are common immediately after waxing. Rarely, small bumps or ingrown hairs may appear. Avoid heat, exfoliation, and sun exposure for 24–48 hours; use gentle soothing products and contact us for prolonged reactions.
Topical medications like retinoids or prescription acne treatments can increase risk of skin lifting and irritation. Inform your esthetician of any products you use; you may need to pause certain medications seven to fourteen days prior, or choose an alternative hair removal method.
After waxing, avoid steam, heavy exercise, and sun exposure for 24 hours. Keep the area clean, apply a soothing gel or aloe, and postpone exfoliation for 48–72 hours to prevent irritation and reduce the chance of ingrown hairs.
